Day 1: Haridwar – Guptkashi

Welcome to the gateway of Devbhoomi! Our tour representative will join you at Haridwar and then will take you towards Guptkashi via Rudraprayag and Devprayag. While moving towards Guptkashi enjoy the beautiful view of gorgeously flowing River Ganga and River Alaknanda. In Guptkashi you can visit Ardh Narishwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Fact about Guptkashi – The literal meaning of this place is “hidden Benarasi” and the place holds a great religious significance in Hinduism. According to Hindu mythology, Pandavas in the urge of seeking freedom from their sins of doing fratricide performed a deep penance in order to please Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva didn’t want to forgive them so easily and so transformed himself into a bull and then hid at Guptkashi. It is believed that during the winter months when the Kedarnath shrine is closed then priests of the shrine shift to Guptkashi and reside there.

Day 2: Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Guptkashi

By Helicopter – Early in the morning our driver will take you to the pre-booked helipad. After visiting the sacred Kedarnath shrine, our tour representative will pick you and drop you to the hotel for rest.

By Trek: However, it is quite challenging to return back to the hotel on the same day by trek but if you avail the facility of pony rides or helicopter services to reach the shrine then it is easily possible to explore the place. Be informed that there is parking issue at Sonprayag and even vehicles are not allowed to move further so we request you to stay calm and co-operate with the driver.

Facts of Kedarnath: One of the most important and divine jyotirlingas among 12 jyotirlingas in India, Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This huge ancient shrine is nestled beautifully at an elevation of 3584 meters above sea level. Interesting Hindu mythology states that Pandavas after defeating Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war were burdened with the guilt of fratricide and performed a deep penance to Lord Shiva. But Lord Shiva didn’t want to free them so easily and he took the form of a bull. When one of the Pandava brothers recognized him and chased him when he dived into the ground and his body parts were shattered. His hump was found in Kedarnath and so since then, Shiva is being worshipped at Kedarnath in the form of a bull hump.

Day 3: Guptkashi – Badrinath

Post enjoying the relishing Garhwali cuisine in breakfast, drive towards Badrinath. On reaching Badrinath check-into the pre-booked hotel. Loosen up yourself and get ready to drive towards the holy shrine of Lord Vishnu. There is a ritual to take a dip into the hot thermal spring of Tapt Kund so after taking holy bath pay homage to Lord Badri and if time permits you then participate in the grand evening Aarti ceremony at the temple. You can also visit Brahmakapal to perform the Shraddha rituals of your ancestors. When to Go For the Do Dham Yatra

Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra Registration 2024

Only in 2024 will the long-awaited Chardham Yatra begin. On February 20, registration will open as soon as possible. Instead of travelling in person to the registration centre in northern India, pilgrims are asked to register online for this year’s journey. Each year, thousands of pilgrims give themselves a supernatural blessing. When COVID was established, there was no yatra, but now that the various travel options are available again, it is a great opportunity for all pilgrims. Registrations will be accepted until March 31, 2024.

More pilgrims are expected to arrive this year after a record-breaking 46 lakh pilgrims visited the Char Dham shrines last year. As a result, all district magistrates along the yatra route have been given instructions to determine the carrying capacity at each shrine, plan for lodging to be available nearby, strengthen the yatra routes, use JCBs to clear sensitive landslide zones, and maintain adequate cleanliness, health care arrangements, and waste management facilities throughout the yatra.

The temple committee has a very narrow timeline in which it must streamline the Darshan for Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines, said Yogendra Singh, chief executive officer of the Badrinath Kedarnath temple committee. If the number of devotees reaching the shrines is around 12,000, then it means that the time window for each devotee is only 3 to 5 seconds for Darshan.

He added that the committee is developing a programme to speed up the Darshan process by introducing a token system for routine darshans, while special prayers would be registered online (rudrabhishek). According to Singh, in order to take advantage of the numerous visitors to the temples, women-led self-help groups would be engaged to supply prasad (holy food) for pilgrims.

According to Kumar, accommodations and other amenities at Pipilotti, Helang, Pandukehwar, and Govind Ghat in the Chamoli district on the road to Badrinath would be improved a week before the yatra starts, and Char Dham assistance centres at transit camps will be activated. Char Dham Yatra: Badrinath Dham Yatra About to Begin. 12 Danger Zones Concern Travellers.

There is only a little time left for the Badrinath yatra to begin but the Badrinath highway, which is the only route of the yatra, has turned dangerous at a few places. More than a dozen danger zones have been recognized and are scaring the passengers. This is a direct result of the landslide caused during the widening of the highway route.

After the treatment of the old landslide zone in Paradeep, Maithana, and Lambagad, the landslides have stopped as of now. Right now, there are 13 different places between Gauchar and Badrinath where the hill cutting work is still under process. The work has resumed after the ban by the Supreme Court has been lifted. Other than this, the danger zones have emerged due to landslides during the process of widening over 15 different regions. The problem of landslides is a common one on the hills however it tends to increase during the rainy season.

The National Highway Authority of India or NHAI says that it is not possible to complete the highway work by rock cutting method during this current travel season. An action plan is proposed for the permanent treatment of the newly emerged landslide zone. In such a situation, safe movement on the highway during the travel season is no less than a challenge.

The work of cutting the rock to widen Badrinath highway road in certain places is yet to be done. Adequate machines and workers will be employed in the danger zone to ensure safety for travelers during the travel season. The cutting rock procedure will also be accelerated at night. Maximum care will be taken that the passengers will not be inconvenienced.

Road safety on the Badrinath highway is the priority of the administration. For this, Joint Inspection of NH, RTO and the administration team has been done. The administration will take steps for the improvement and security of the danger zone before the travel season.

There are danger zones at many places on the Badrinath highway. It has been inspected and marked. If the concerned department does not adopt security measures here, then the police will deploy police personnel for safe movement, so that the pilgrims do not face any problems.
